Donald Trump on Sunday launched in to an uncharacteristically strong attack against Russia's Vladimir Putin.

Approached by press over the weekend, Trump gave an impromptu update on the war Russia has launched on Ukraine.

"Yeah, i'll give you an update. I'm not happy with what Putin is doing," the president said. "He's killing a lot of people, and I don't know what the hell happened to Putin."

Trump continued:

"I've known him a long time. I've always gotten along with him. But he's sending rockets into cities and killing people, and I don't like it at all," the president said Sunday. "Okay, we're in the middle of talking, and he's shooting rockets into Kyiv and other cities. I don't like it at all."

An MSNBC host called them "very harsh words" from Trump to Putin.
