Former President Donald Trump made a bizarre remark at his rally with the far-right student group Turning Point USA in Arizona on Thursday, seeming to imply during a rant about border security that he thinks there's probably a criminal from Venezuela hiding somewhere in that very room.
"Is there any criminal from Venezuela in the room?" said Trump in the footage, originally captured by @Acyn. "Please raise your hand. There probably is, we just don't know about it." Trump ironically granted temporary legal status to Venezuelan nationals on his way out of office in 2021.
Commenters on social media roundly roasted Trump for these remarks, with many pointing out that Trump is in fact a convicted criminal himself, having been found guilty on 34 counts of felony falsification of business records in Manhattan just days before.
