'He thinks he's running against Obama': The View questions Trump's mental fitness
Barack Obama and Donald Trump

The co-hosts of "The View" on Tuesday brought up a recent comment made during a town hall event with Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. A woman in the audience shredded him for his lack of experience at a time when she said Americans need a trusted leader, particularly in foreign policy.

It prompted a discussion about experience and fitness for the presidency – which led to a discussion about some of Donald Trump's recent comments.

"He keeps saying he's running against [former President Barack] Obama. He keeps saying that as if Joe Biden is in cognitive decline, not Trump," said Joy Behar.

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

Behar's comment comes after Trump talked about whales being killed by windmills and getting a key endorsement from Hannibal Lector, a fictional cannibal serial killer.

During and after the 2016 election there were questions about Trump's mental fitness for office from psychiatrists warning Trump was a threat. "Duty to Warn" was made up of 27 prominent psychiatrists who stepped forward to warn the public.

And Biden's age and mental fitness is a frequent topic brought up by Trump.

It has been two years this month since former Trump adviser Omarosa Manigault Newman said that, if Trump intends to run, he should "come clean about his health." It has never been revealed what she meant by that.
