President Donald Trump’s Truth Social posts are catching his aides by surprise, according to a Washington Post report.

A senior White House official, who spoke to the Post on the condition of anonymity, "discussed internal details about Trump’s social media use.”

Though the source said the president relies on a small team to keep his online operation running, they often have no idea what's coming.

“Often, Trump posts — or, in Truth Social lingo, ‘truths’ — his messages himself, surprising his staff in the middle of the night and early in the morning, when he is watching the news on TV,” the Post wrote, paraphrasing the senior official.

“Those late-night and predawn missives sometimes step into unusual territory,” the outlet reported.

One of the staff members who would be caught off guard by Trump’s late-night Truths is, “Dan Scavino, an adviser who has for years posted memes and videos for Trump [and] continues to manage most of Trump’s social media presence as White House deputy chief of staff.”

Another staff member who works with Trump on his social media is Natalie Harp. According to the Post, Trump “dictates” posts to Harp.

The Post reports, “During the campaign, filmmakers for the documentary series ‘Art of the Surge’ captured Trump dictating Truth Social posts as Harp and Scavino typed away.”

The White House has its own, separate digital team. According to the Post, “Senior staffers, however, sometimes call Trump when they have a more formal statement they would like him to promote.”
