President Donald Trump lashed out at the Supreme Court Sunday after justices bucked his redistricting plan in Missouri for the third time this month, boasting that he “won Missouri BIG” in a somber online post.
“The Supreme Court of the United States will just not let Missouri have an Election Victory. They continuously, three times now, overrule Judges who came to the correct decisions,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
“Thank you to the Governor, and all of the Great People of Missouri, who are fighting so hard for Fairness and Election Security. Such tremendous Spirit and Love of our Country. I won Missouri BIG, all three times, and I couldn’t be more proud of doing so. A great place — I love you all!”
The Supreme Court blocked Missouri from using a congressional map designed to bolster Republicans’ electoral prospects on Friday, the third such time over the past 30 days, with justices warning in their unsigned decision that “electoral chaos” could ensue should Missouri lawmakers be permitted to use the new map.
The effort by Missouri Republicans to redraw the state’s congressional district map is part of a broader effort from the White House to reshape congressional districts across the country to favor Republicans in the upcoming midterms, an effort that has produced mixed results since being launched last year in Texas.
