The Democratic National Committee is launching a new program aimed at recruiting and training volunteers in Republican districts to pressure their House members to oppose President Trump's so-called “big, beautiful bill," according to an Axios report.
Congresspersons Tom Barrett (R-MI), Don Bacon (R-NE), Mike Lawler (R-NY), and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) are just four of those being targeted in the new endeavor.
The idea for Democrats is to pressure enough House Republicans and block the GOP bill.
The legislation would be a package of Trump's priorities for taxes, border security, and energy.
House Speaker Mike Johnson is attempting to pass the bill by Memorial Day.
Bacon, Lawler, and Fitzpatrick all represent districts that Kamala Harris won last year.
However, Barrett is one of the sitting House Republicans who flipped a previously Democrat-held seat.

Speaker Johnson, along with other GOP leadership, is performing a careful balancing act as they try to placate their alt-right delegation without alienating moderates and those in swing districts.
At least a dozen House Republicans have openly raised concerns about cutting too deeply into Medicaid benefits. Many of them feel it could cause them to lose their seat in the midterm election.
Other concerns some Republicans have include the proposal to pare down nutrition assistance benefits and repeal the Inflation Reduction Act tax credits.
DNC Chairman Ken Martin said of the effort, “The DNC is launching its first-ever distributed organizing program to offer voters a platform to join Democrats in taking direct action — from hosting town halls to mobilizing their personal networks — against the GOP's budget.”
However, Republican Congressional Committee spokesperson Mike Marinella said, "All national Democrats have are pathetic lies and fear-mongering tactics to distract from their failures.”
