Armed man arrested near White House leaves Secret Service ‘alarmed’ by threats: report

Secret Service officers arrested a man near the White House Thursday night after he allegedly said voices told him to kill President Donald Trump, per local reporting.

The Department of Homeland Security told Fox News that officers approached Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos as he sat in a parked car on Constitution Avenue. Authorities said the car had been reported stolen.

Officers found three guns, including an AR-15-style rifle, and dozens of rounds of ammunition, DHS said.

Chrinos faces weapons and theft charges and is in U.S. Marshals Service custody. Secret Service Director Sean Curran said the agency was “alarmed by the increase in threat cases.”

"This is the latest example of Secret Service personnel relying on extensive training and experience to de-escalate a volatile situation that posed an imminent threat to our protectees and other Americans," Curran said in a statement.

The White House did not provide comment, instead referring to DHS and U.S.S.S, according to reporting by the Associated Press.

“Thanks to our brave Secret Service officers, this illegal alien with three firearms in his vehicle was arrested near the White House before he could harm anyone,” Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said in a statement.
