Former President Donald Trump's recent rants on Truth Social left a CNN panel stunned on Tuesday.
After recapping recent Trump posts -- in which he suggested that Gen. Mark Milley should be executed and that all of NBC News should face criminal prosecution -- panelist John Avlon argued that they deserved more media attention lest Americans grow numb to the threats the country faces.
"There's a tendency right now to ignore to the extent of normalizing his most outrageous claims. particularly calling for the execution of... General Mark Milley," he said. "The fact that it was initially greeted with silence indicates the degree to which we're getting numb to his grievances."

Anchor Phil Mattingly then noted that there doesn't seem to be anything that Trump can do to warrant significant pushback from his leading Republican rivals, even though he has been making "positively bonkers" posts on his Truth Social platform.
"Everybody just kind of wanders by!" he marveled. "Why?"
Associated Press reporter Michelle Price noted that this same dynamic has been in play ever since Trump came down the escalator at Trump Tower in 2015 and announced his presidential bid.
"We are not seeing anybody in that field, besides Chris Christie, challenge him on these things," she remarked. "And that seems to be the question: They're all trying to posit themselves as a viable alternative, are they actually running against him or just running in the background?"
