US Open organizers delayed the final match of the tournament over the weekend after President Donald Trump's attendance caused attendees to experience a delay of over an hour in reaching the event.

"As a result of the security measures in place, and to ensure that fans have additional time to get to their seats, we have pushed the start time of today's match to 2:30 pm ET," the US Open said Sunday on X..

The announcement came after reports of traffic being backed up for miles.

"All general parking for the US Open has been fully blocked for Trump for the past hour and a half," John Palmer noted. "Thousands of people on the highway just stuck outside for an hour, unable to enter."

Over the weekend, US Open officials asked broadcasters not to highlight any heckling or booing of Trump.

"We ask all broadcasters to refrain from showcasing any disruptions to the President's attendance in any capacity," the United States Tennis Association (USTA) said in a memo.
