Commentator Mark Halperin slammed Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard for accusing former President Barack Obama of treason without specifics.
While speaking to MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk on Wednesday, Halperin asserted that Gabbard had been "unclear" and "sloppy" with her accusations.
"Sean Spicer on 2Way this morning compared this to the binders for the Epstein matter," he said. "If you're going to do something that you purport to be extremely serious, and the charges she's making are obviously extremely serious, and the president's picked them up and said, this could lead to the indictment of a former president."
"If you're going to do that, this can't be done in this vague, shadowy, send a few tweets, go on a few cable hits way. So one thing is it's not specific and it's sloppy," he continued.
Halperin also noted that Gabbard had failed to accuse Obama of any specific crimes.
"If somebody says laws were broken, I always go right to the first question," he explained. "What were the laws? What laws were broken?"
"So before people start talking about indictments and incarceration, let's hear some specific names, specific actions, specific laws that would have been violated," he added.
