Rep. Lauren Boebert's (R-CO) ex-husband opened up about his eldest son after he was hit with criminal charges.

"'I know my son is a good-hearted child and still has his whole life ahead of him," Jayson Boebert told The Daily Mail of his 18-year-old son, Tyler.

The young man was busted on Tuesday and hit with 22 criminal charges from a "recent string of vehicle trespass and property thefts in Rifle," according to an official release.

The 42-year-old father expressed his "'unwavering" support of his children months after he and the Colorado congresswoman made their divorce official after nearly 20 years of marriage.

"My love for my children is unconditional and I vow to stand by them unwaveringly through all of life's challenges," he told the Mail. "Ensuring that I am there for my children regardless of the circumstances is a value I hold dear as a parent."

Jayson specifically talked about doing better to "refine my parenting skills."

"I have made a commitment to provide the best possible support and guidance to my children," he said. "Even though I may feel like I have failed at times I will continue to keep improving."

Tyler's found himself on the wrong side of the law in the recent past.

Last April, he and a pal were involved in a car crash where Tyler was accused of driving recklessly and flipped the car because he was “driving so f***ing fast” but only being ticketed for a defective vehicle for headlights.

“I still have problems with my hand,” Noble D’Amato, 19, told Westword. “My thumb almost got cut off. It prevented me from getting a welding job because I can’t hold a TIG torch anymore. I’m a personal-care provider now.”

Boebert responded to the claims of downplaying the incident telling The Independent it “involved two minors” and “the injury reported was superficial at best and was addressed by medical professionals out of caution."

In February, the mother of Tyler's young son told Raw Story that the Boebert family drama has caused her "a few ups and downs. Just mainly Lauren and Jayson’s drama.”

Rocha has never been married to Tyler Boebert and she has split with the baby’s father.

“We are not together,” Rocha told Raw Story. “We were for a year and a half.”

While no longer a couple, Rocha and Tyler Boebert share parenting time.

“We do 50-50,” she said. “As of right now, no courts are involved.”

Rocha said she and her son live with her parents after they stayed for about a year with Tyler Boebert and his parents.
