Detroit detective rants about 'piece of sh*t Black Lives Matter terrorists' -- and only gets demoted
Detroit Police Chief James Craig announced on Monday that he was demoting a detective who referred to Black Lives Matter as "terrorists" on Facebook.
Over the weekend, the Detroit Police Department said that it had launched an investigation into Detective Nathan Weekley after his Facebook post went viral.
For the first time in my nearly 17 years as a law enforcement officer I contemplated calling into work in response to the outrageous act perpetrated against my brothers. It seems like the only response that will demonstrate our importance to society as a whole. The only racists here are the piece of shit Black Lives Matter terrorists and their supporters.
On Monday, Chief Craig said at a press conference that Weekley had been demoted. But he refrained from taking harsher actions, saying that the officer was "entitled to due process" in the ongoing investigation.
"Detective Weekley has been de-appointed down from the ranking of detective to police officer and he has been reassigned and we have opened an internal investigation into the matter," Craig explained.
“It’s not about white or black,” the chief added. “When you put on this uniform, you can’t make statements that contradict what we stand for as a department.”
Weekley is the brother of Officer Joseph Weekley, who was charged with manslaughter for the killing of 7-year-old Aiyana Stanley-Jones during a 2010 police raid. Although two trials ended in hung juries, Joseph Weekley still faces two civil cases related to the shooting.
