Walt Nauta, former President Donald Trump's co-defendant in a government documents case, will have his arraignment delayed after his scheduled flight to Miami was canceled Monday.

The Messenger first reported that Nauta sought a delay earlier this month because he has been unable to find an attorney to represent him in Florida, where he is facing charges of conspiracy, false statements, and concealing documents.

Nauta hired attorney Stanley Woodward who is not a member of the Florida Bar. Woodward explained that Nauta's flight from Newark was one of dozens canceled on Monday.

"He spent three hours alone sitting on the tarmac," Woodward told the Messenger.

Nauta's arraignment is now scheduled for July 6. He is expected to plead not guilty.

Trump has already pleaded not guilty to 37 felony counts.
