White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson offered her boss a pat on the back after his Department of Justice released a batch of files related to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Jackson's remarks came after Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche admitted that the DOJ would flout federal law by declining to release "all" of the Epstein files by Friday. It also came after President Donald Trump fought a bipartisan effort to see the files released.
"The Trump Administration is the most transparent in history," Jackson insisted. "By releasing thousands of pages of documents, cooperating with the House Oversight Committee's subpoena request, and President Trump recently calling for further investigations into Epstein's Democrat friends, the Trump Administration has done more for the victims than Democrats ever have."
"And while President Trump is delivering on his promises, Democrats like Hakeem Jeffries and Stacey Plaskett have yet to explain why they were soliciting money and meetings from Epstein after he was a convicted sex offender. The American people deserve answers."
Blanche told Fox News that "several hundred thousand" more files would be released in the coming weeks despite Friday's deadline.
