A MAGA influencer and former adviser to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sat in on Tuesday's White House news briefing and asked a question that prompted those around him to laugh and online observers to wonder if it was a skit from "Saturday Night Live."
Among the comments made by influencer Link Lauren was that former President Joe Biden was responsible for rising suicide rates. In September, U.S. News and World Report cited data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showing 2022 suicide rates were their highest in decades after they went down in the two previous years.
According to an internal document reviewed by CNN last week, President Donald Trump's administration is considering eliminating the 988 Suicide Prevention and Crisis Lifeline's specialized services for LGBTQ+ youth.
The bright blond hair prompted viewers to question whether Lauren was "Harry Potter" character Draco Malfoy. Others called him a "Temu Draco Malfoy."

Former congressional candidate Christopher Hale posted an image of a blond guy wearing a red hat reading "Make Magic Great Again" and a "Support Purebloods" poster behind him. It's another reference to the magical series, where villains are obsessed with blood purity.
"Legit thought this was Beck Bennett doing Mike Pence," said host Wes Goldberg of "RealGM." One of his followers responded with a side-by-side shot of the influencer and the SNL cast member to illustrate the striking resemblance.
"Who could possibly tell whether or not this is real?" asked former Republican strategist Tim Miller from The Bulwark.
"I refuse to believe this isn’t SNL," said Moms Demand Action co-founder Shannon Watts.
Journalist Mike Rothschild, who researches conspiracy theories, remarked, "Smirking jackals and failed artists who would be disdained and unemployable in any sort of functioning society."
"This is Link Lauren, a former RFK associate who's now become a more straightforward MAGA influencer. Obviously I have a high tolerance for these kind of characters, but I haven't seen much new there," quipped Bulwark reporter Will Sommer.
"Don't you hate Gryffindor?" is another question asked by Lon Harris, editorial director for LAUNCH.
Canada's La Presse correspondent Richard Hétu said, according to a Grok, translates in English to say, "The presence of MAGA influencers has transformed White House press briefings into propaganda activities reminiscent of SNL sketches. But, as Croc magazine used to say, just because we're laughing doesn't mean it's funny."
