"The Good Liars," comedians who interview Donald Trump's supporters, confronted MAGA fans at a recent event using the ex-president's own words to ask about him.
The issue was whether Trump's fans would admit that Trump lied. In one case, for example, Trump talked about his work as president on Russia and China in 2021. Trump wasn't president in 2021.
"In 2016," the woman said. Trump wasn't president in 2016, either. He was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2017.
"They have to pick out something," said the MAGA fan.
Another group of Trump supporters was asked about Trump saying that his New York City condo is 30,000 square feet when it is 10,000 square feet.
"I don't know," a woman said.
"He said it in the documents," the "Good Liars'" Jason Selvig explained.
"We'll see how that comes out. There is always something," said the MAGA lady.
"Does that change your opinion a little bit?" Selvig asked.
"It's all fake news," she replied.
Last week, Trump confessed on the stand that his condo was 10,000, not the 30,000 claimed in the documents, Forbes reported.
"It would not be fake because he did say that," Selvig probed.
"How do we know that?" questioned the MAGA lady.
"Because his own company put it out and said it was their document," he replied.
"You know what, I mean, I don't know what you're talking about. If I saw it, I would say okay, cool. There is a reason for this, it's guaranteed," the MAGA supporter said, making excuses for Trump.
"If he did lie about that, do you think it is, maybe, possible that he lied about other stuff?" asked Selvig.
MSNBC's Yasmin Vossoughian recalled the time Trump said he had supporters who were so loyal that he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue, and they wouldn't abandon him. "The Good Liars" appeared to prove the fact.
"Yeah, hearing that Donald Trump never lies, that hit me a little bit," said Selvig. "Because I think I've maybe heard that a couple of times, but here they just say, 'No, he's never lied. I don't believe that.' That is really out there that you would say that. And frankly, it is a little insulting to think that Donald Trump wouldn't tell a lie, even though he famously lied about the readings with The Celebrity Apprentice. He lied about Obama's birth certificate and the 2020 election being stolen. Those are just a couple of the top of my head. He lies a lot in those, which is the given circumstances of being around Donald Trump over the years."
It was only the third rally of 2023, despite Trump announcing he was running for president one year ago this week.
Davram Stiefler, the other in "The Good Liars" team confronted a Trump fan with a T-shirt reading "Trump 2020: Making liberals cry again." The man confessed that Trump lost in 2020, so Stiefler asked who really has been crying about it for the past three years.
