Fourth-grade students at a Florida school were left traumatized after their teacher showed them a movie that depicted Winnie the Pooh and his friend Piglet going on a murderous rampage, the Miami New Times reported.

The New Times' report says the movie, titled "Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey," tells the story of how "the once-lovable, honey-obsessed bear turns feral after his bestie Christopher Robin leaves for college. Enraged by Robin's abandonment, Pooh and Piglet develop a seething hatred for humanity and go on a feature-length killing spree during which they slay a group of female university students who have the misfortune of renting a cabin in the Hundred Acre Wood."

Some of the children were so traumatized by the movie that they were offered counseling. Parent Michelle Diaz said the teacher continued to play the movie even after some children complained that they were disturbed by it.

The movie contains some graphic scenes that depict people getting their heads crushed and being thrown into a wood chipper.

"There's also stabbing, face-ripping, neck-slicing, arm-snapping, whipping, eyeballs popping out, and much, much more. A woman's breasts are visible after her top comes off while she's being attacked," said Common Sense Media, adding that the F-word also sporadically appears in the movie.

School principal Vera Hirsh claimed to the New Times that "as soon as the teacher realized what was being shown, the movie was turned off."

"The issue has been thoroughly addressed with teachers, students, and parents. Our students are in school and doing fine, and we really did address all of the concerns," Hirsh said.
