President Donald Trump vowed to be the savior of New York City as he declared war on the Democratic Party’s nominee for mayor — a man who won overwhelming support from primary voters in a democratic election.

With no evidence, Trump declared Zohran Mamdani a “Communist Lunatic” and told the city to rest easy with the knowledge that he wouldn’t let him take over as leader.

He did not mention the fact that Mamdani easily beat his closest rival in last week’s election, gaining 56 percent of the vote compared to 44 percent for Andrew Cuomo after ranked choice results were released.

“As President of the United States, I’m not going to let this Communist Lunatic destroy New York,” Trump raged on Truth Social Wednesday.

“Rest assured, I hold all the levers, and have all the cards. I’ll save New York City, and make it “Hot” and “Great” again, just like I did with the Good Ol’ USA!”

Mamdani’s win to become the Democratic Party nominee has energized Democrats in the city, though many establishment figures in the party — along with Republicans and the super wealthy — expressed dismay at his win.

The Republican candidate in the city’s mayoral election is Curtis Sliwa.
