Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) is under fire Friday after posting a lengthy video generated with artificial intelligence depicting New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani kissing Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) wearing a traditional Native American headdress, and the city falling into chaos under Sharia Law, an apparent dig at Mamdani’s Islamic faith.

“Remember New York, I warned you,” Ogles wrote in a social media post on X, alongside the AI-generated video.

Clocking in at over three minutes, the video is a compilation of chaotic scenes in New York City set to a rendition of Frank Sinatra’s hit song “New York, New York,” only with the lyrics changed to attack Mamdani, who won the mayoral election this week as the Democratic nominee.

The video begins with a depiction of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) feeding Mamdani grapes, quickly followed by a scene of Warren kissing Mamdani on a park bench, and while wearing a Native American war bonnet, a clear dig at her claim to having Native American heritage.

“This guy needs to be put into a small room in complete darkness,” wrote online commentator Nick Ribaudo, who claims himself to be the “leftist Ben Shapiro," in a social media post on X Friday. “This is utterly insane, deranged, and detached from reality.”

The revised lyrics of the Sinatra song make reference to New York City under Mamdani’s leadership: "Imagine North Korea with a dash of Sharia,” the AI-generated voice can be heard singing, a reference to Islamic moral code derived from the Quran, the central holy book of Islam. The lyrics also make reference to “AOC with a penis,” and depict the New York lawmaker as a vampire.

“Republican [members of Congress] are racist [as f---],” wrote X user “Denise,” a pro-Democratic Party advocate and New Yorker who’s amassed more than 5,200 followers. “The violence they incite is the language borne by their stupidity. Where is the outrage about Jared Kushner getting $2 billion from Saudi Arabia? How about the Qatar bribes? [Shut the f----] about New York.”

The AI-generated video also depicts Muslims parading police officers around New York City streets by dog leashes, includes racist references to a long-standing Islamophobic trope implying those who practice Islam engage in sexual acts with animals, and concludes with Mamdani and other Democratic lawmakers tearing down the Statue of Liberty. The video also ends with text suggesting the video was created by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, though Abbott's office did not immediately return a request for comment to confirm his involvement.

“A sitting representative just posted this,” wrote Barmelo Xanthony, who frequently shares and posts content critical of Republicans to their more than 1,500 followers on X. “These people are mentally ill.”

Ogles has frequently fear-mongered about Mamdani, sharing a video on social media the day before Tuesday’s election of the 9/11 attacks in reference to Mamdani’s impending victory, telling New Yorkers to “wake up.” He’s also repeatedly called for Mamdani’s citizenship to be revoked.
