With the primary campaigns winding down -- as Donald Trump wraps up the GOP nomination and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is on the verge of being mathematically eliminated -- it is helpful to go back and review the animated GIFs that have amused us during this already too long political season.
"GIFs" -- short for "Graphics Interchange Format" -- are brief video snippets of action well suited to get across an idea in an Internet world where an 800-world-article is "tl;dr" (too long; didn't read) and a two-minute video seems tedious.

Months ago, Donald Trump landed the all-important Sarah Palin endorsement leading to a weird speech which inspired Tina Fey to return to SNL:
Trump-backing Chris Christie coming to the horrible realization that he is backing ...Donald Trump:
Watch Carly Fiorina's fake smile fade as she gives Marco Rubio the stink-eye:
Ted Cruz beating up his wife on the way to get a consoling hug from his dad after he canceled his campaign:
Ted Cruz attempting to hold hands with Carly Fiorina shows that human contact is not one of his strong points:
Before Cruz's campaign dropped out of sight, Carly Fiorina did her own disappearing act:
Cruz never quite shed the suspicion that he is the Zodiac Killer -- which could hamper him in his 2020 run:
Bernie Sanders flagging down a waiter while Hillary goes on and on and on:
Nothing illustrated the futility of Jeb Bush's presidential campaign like him having to coax listeners to "Please clap"
Donald Trump puts on a hard hat and shows how to shovel coal:
Trump can be very ... expressive:
Donald Trump tries to high five Ben Carson. Fails:
Carson tried to bum-rush the debate stage before being introduced. So awkward:
And we end this with President Barack Obama fittingly dropping the mic:
