President Donald Trump was up early this morning to tweet out his support for the Second Amendment in response to the op-ed by former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.
"THE SECOND AMENDMENT WILL NEVER BE REPEALED!" Trump screamed in all caps. "As much as Democrats would like to see this happen, and despite the words yesterday of former Supreme Court Justice Stevens, NO WAY. We need more Republicans in 2018 and must ALWAYS hold the Supreme Court!"
Stevens, a lifelong Republican nominated to the Court by Gerald Ford, urged school shooting survivors to call for the repeal of the Second Amendment. The NRA then proceeded to go into full meltdown-mode. Trump has yet to respond to the students of Parkland, Florida, who lead marches across the country over the weekend.
He went on to address North Korea.
"For years and through many administrations, everyone said that peace and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula was not even a small possibility," Trump tweeted. "Now there is a good chance that Kim Jong Un will do what is right for his people and for humanity. Look forward to our meeting!"
Trump then tweeted that he had spoken to Chinese President Xi Jinping, which he put in all caps.
"Received message last night from XI JINPING of China that his meeting with KIM JONG UN went very well and that KIM looks forward to his meeting with me," Trump said. "In the meantime, and unfortunately, maximum sanctions and pressure must be maintained at all cost!"
