Yet another lawsuit attempting to get Donald Trump kicked off the ballot was filed Friday – this time in Michigan.

The Associated Press reported Friday's filing was the first time a well-funded organization had launched an attempt to have the former president and GOP frontrunner for the nomination disqualified in a swing state.

Free Speech For People’s lawsuit claims Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election result and his encouragement of the Jan. 6 insurrection is tantamount to insurrection, and that would mean he should be disqualified from standing for election under the 14th Amendment.

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

The 14th Amendment rules that insurrectionists cannot hold office.

The organization has filed a similar challenge in Minnesota, and many others have been filed by other groups across the country.
