GOP pollster Frank Luntz made an inappropriate joke about Bruce Jenner during a focus group at the South Carolina Freedom Summit on Saturday afternoon, Think Progress reported.

During his speech, Luntz asked mothers, daughters and spouses of members of the military to stand up for recognition.

"You give as much as sacrifice as any one and we want to thank you for all that you do," he said.

He paused and called out a man with a mustache in the audience, who had also stood up.

“I was married to WAC!” the man yelled back. A WAC is a member of the Women’s Army Corps, an all-female army units disbanded in 1978 when female units were integrated with male units.

Luntz added after a short pause, “so was Bruce Jenner!” The audience response was a mix of boos and laughs.

Jenner recently announced she was transitioning to a woman in a recent interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer.

The conservatives who spoke at the event included 2016 presidential hopefuls Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rick Santorum, Scott Walker, and Rick Perry.
