Jill and Jessa Duggar accused of scheduling pregnancies to keep TLC from canceling spinoff show

The Duggar family had their fair share of advertising problems after coming out as homophobic and having their brother's pedophilia and sex addiction splashed all over the news.

Daughters Jill and Jessa Duggar got their own spinoff, "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," when the first show was canceled due to a child molestation cover-up. Despite being in a rehab facility, Josh Duggar left just in time to help promote his sisters' new program. A few weeks ago, the show closed out its first season, but not before teasing that the next time the ladies get pregnant they plan to be pregnancy buddies, which is causing many to ask questions.  Christian Daily reports there is new speculation that these pregnancies are being coordinated to keep TLC interested in the show.

"Which of the two of you will have your second child first?" a producer asked, Hollywood Gossip cited.

"It's hard to say," Jessa said.

"I think we will probably be pregnant at the same time, but to say who will be first, well Israel is older... so we will see," Jill answered.

"I'm not pregnant yet, that's the question everyone keeps asking me. Not yet," Jill continued. "I feel like we will have another child. I just don't know how. It will probably be a naturalized citizen of the family."

Their show was slated to be canceled before they even finished the first season, Hollywood Gossip reports. That makes these new coy comments about a dual pregnancy seem calculating. While ratings have leveled out, advertisers refuse to have their products marketed next to a possible child molester and the family that allegedly covered it up.

Hollywood Gossip thinks the pregnancies plotline is a determined effort to keep the show on the air. TLC still hasn't renewed the program for its second season, however.  Given their track record with children, that's probably the moral decision.
