Earlier Wednesday, New Jersey governor Chris Christie said that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) had a responsibility to endorse GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump. It didn’t happen. In fact, Cruz repeated language used by the #NeverTrump movement that delegates should “vote their conscience.” Yet, not even Newt Gingrich could calm them down.
Not only did Cruz draw boos and a tense moment on the RNC floor, he incited a right-wing Twitter meltdown.
The audience was so furious that Cruz’s wife Heidi had to be escorted out by security.
