Stephen Colbert is really excited that there are only 12 days left until the election. He's not the only one. Colbert even remarked that the election has gotten so ugly even Trump is no longer interested in it.
In the meantime, Trump is getting flack for taking off from campaigning to do a ribbon cutting at his Washington, D.C. hotel. In an interview with George Stephanopoulos, Trump talked about the double standard that his opponent Hillary Clinton has no energy and in the same breath he then criticized her for staying out all night at an Adele concert. Clinton attended the concert for her birthday.
"I can't take one hour off to cut a ribbon at one of the great hotels of the world? I mean, I think I'm entitled to it," Trump told Stephanopoulos.
"Yes, 'I think I'm entitled to it.' Which is also the motto on the Trump family crest," Colbert joked. "And his pickup line at bars."
Colbert also brought up the James O'Keefe videos, which have proved uninteresting and lack the campaign-ending video that the right-wing hoped it would. One thing that was captured was that Democratic operatives would bring together volunteers who would wear Planned Parenthood t-shirts or hurl insults at Trump supporters to get them to react with violence.
"So, Democratic operatives were training -- paying activists to incite violence at Trump rallies. Which is a waste of money. Donald Trump already does that for free," Colbert mocked.
Colbert also took a moment to mention Independent candidate Evan McMullin, a former CIA operative, that is also running for president.
"He's a CIA agent! And his cover is so deep! He's running for president, and we had no idea. He's really good!" Colbert closed.
