'All Lives Splatter': Sheriff sorry after department posts meme that promotes killing protesters
An 'All Lives Splatter' meme posted the Chelan County Emergency Management's Facebook page.

Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett has issued a formal apology after a meme that glorified running down protesters was posted on the Chelan County Emergency Management's Facebook page.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports that a Chelan County emergency services worker this week accidentally posted an offensive meme to his department's official Facebook page after initially intending to only post it to their own personal page.

The meme said "All lives splatter," and featured a cartoon of a car running over protesters. The meme also said that, "Nobody cares about your protest, keep your ass out of the road."

"I don't wish harm on anyone," wrote the employee, who has yet to be publicly identified. "But protesters don't belong in the road!"

Burnett said he was sorry the meme was ever posted, and he vowed to not let anything like it happen again.

"Staff at Chelan County Emergency Management feel terrible that this inappropriate and hurtful post made it onto the Facebook page," Burnett said. “Changes have already been made in procedure to assure nothing like this will ever occur in the future.”

The employee's meme that glorified running over protesters comes nearly one month after a white nationalist in Charlottesville, Virginia, plowed his car into a group of protesters, which resulted in the death of activist Heather Heyer.
