ESPN's Jemele Hill stands firm: Trump is white supremacist who bullies reporters of color

Sports commentator Jemele Hill reiterated her stance on President Donald Trump in a podcast interview with former Houston Texans' running back Arian Foster, saying that the president is a white supremacist who intentionally bullies journalists of color.

"You were a target," said Foster, "by a sitting president. That's f*cking insane. The president of the United States had something to say about you."

"That's going in the obit, for sure," Hill replied.

Hill was suspended from ESPN after she said on Twitter that Trump is a racist white supremacist.

When asked to explain what happened, Hill said, "I fired off some tweets that I probably shouldn't have."

She explained that she was in a "back and forth" with a Trump voter who was "trying to justify his voting decision with things that I thought were kind of inaccurate."

“I thought everybody knew. I thought water was wet," said Hill regarding the idea that Trump is a white supremacist. "I didn’t think I was saying anything that was shocking. It had been said before and unfortunately people comb through your replies now and especially one person in particular who, you know, is kind of drumming this anti-ESPN, liberal ESPN, banging that drum that was like catnip for him. Right, catnip. And I refuse to say his name cos he don’t deserve the publicity.”

Hill was referring to , the Fox Sports reporter who whiffed his first major media appearance -- and earned an icy blast of internet ridicule -- by declaring, "I love boobs!" in the middle of a CNN appearance, prompting anchor Brooke Baldwin to cut the segment short.

“I’m done, I’m sorry, I’m done,” Baldwin said. “This conversation is over, yanking mics, bye, see ya. That was entirely inappropriate.”

Later in the interview, Hill said, “Obviously, I’m not the only journalist to be attacked by him.”

“And they’re mostly colored people," said Foster.

“There seems to be a commonality about all of them," responded Hill.

In the year that he has been president, the Trump administration has leveled vicious attacks at Univision's Jorge Ramos, American Urban Radio Networks' April Ryan, CNN's Don Lemon and other black and Latino reporters, public officials and athletes.
