Appearing on MSNBC's AM Joy, the attorney for adult actress Stormy Daniels continued his war of words with Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, calling his latest media appearances defending the president "the ultimate circus act."
Speaking with host Joy Reid, attorney Michael Avenatti tore into the firmer New York City mayor, whose appearance on CNN on Friday he had already called "dazed and confused."
"They don't like the fact that we are out there providing information and evidence to the American people," the attorney replied when asked about attacks on his character from Trump administration people and Fox News hosts. "They would prefer to continue with the coverup and continue spewing their lies as they've done for months about what transpired here."
"You have Rudy Giuliani ---" he said before pausing and changing direction. "You know, you want to talk about a carnival, a circus atmosphere? Rudy Giuliani is the ultimate circus act at this point -- the guy doesn't know the facts. He goes on television says all kinds of things and is confronted with his past statements."
Referring to Giuliani disastrous interview CNN host Chris Cuomo on Friday morning, Avenatti added, "He's interrupting, trying to dodge the questions. He doesn't know what to do, and I have a simple question: the president of the United States when he was running, Donald Trump, he promised the American people that he was going to surround himself with the best and the brightest -- we heard that repeatedly."
"Rudy Giuliani is hardly the best and the brightest," he remarked. "I mean, he is one of the worst TV -- one of the worst attorneys that could appear on television as an attorney right now. He's an embarrassment and I can't believe, for the president of the United States, this is the best he can get to represent his interests. It's an absolute joke."
