Samantha Bee wants ICE to 'shut the f*ck down' and go work for 'racist lawyer bro' Aaron Schlossberg instead

The problem with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to late-night comedian Samantha Bee, is that it exists.

During Wednesday's "Full Frontal," the host explained that ICE was started after Sept. 11, 2001 to "round up Muslims." Instead, ICE is doing its part to now round up Latinos, who are, in some cases, citizens. According to statistics, in fact, two-thirds of those captured by ICE are citizens.

"The agency, whose job application is just a single question asking if the real hero of 'Schindler's List' was the girl shouting 'Goodbye Jews.' If that criticism of ICE makes you sad, here's a proposal," Bee began. "Let's shut it the f*ck down. I'm serious. It's awful. And we don't actually need it. You know, I'm a liberal. I don't usually advocate for smaller government but in this case, as I say to my barista every morning, there should be one less ICE."

Prior to ICE, Bee explained that the U.S. didn't have an agency "dedicated to deporting people who pose no threat to us." In fact, Republicans were once advocates of immigrants coming into the country. They paid taxes, they added to things like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security without using any of it, and "until the current wave of wall-humpers came to power," everyone was trying to figure out an amnesty plan.

Bee played a clip of former President Ronald Reagan, who said that he "believes in the idea of amnesty." She then noted that if Trump heard Reagan say those words, his fear is it was a ghost who gave 3 million undocumented immigrants the power to vote for Hillary Clinton and screw him over on the popular vote.

Since they put immigration under the Department of Homeland Security, it signaled that immigrants were now a threat and ICE has taken that seriously. She reminded that ICE isn't border control either, they work on the interior portion of the country and get rid of immigrants living in society already.

"Our current immigration policy is an early 2000's relic that's outdated, a law enforcement Adrien Brody, if you will," she said. "And like Adrien Brody, it must be eliminated. Abolishing ICE shouldn't be controversial in spite of what Fox News would have you believe, it doesn't mean we let criminals -- immigrants who commit crimes go free. We already have mechanisms in place to prosecute them in something called the law."

Instead, what we have now ultimately ends up "tearing happy families apart," Bee explained. "And it makes assh*les like this think they're being good citizens."

She then showed the clip of disgraced lawyer Aaron "I'm not a racist" Schlossberg, who became known as "racist lawyer bro" after a video of him threatening to call ICE on Spanish-speaking workers went viral.

"If former ICE agents need a new job, may I suggest the law office of Aaron Schlossberg. I think there may be a vacancy," she closed.
