A deadpan Brooke Baldwin addressed President Donald Trump's contention on Friday morning that he wished American citizens looked up to him the way North Korean's obey strongman leader Kim Jong-un by patiently explaining a few simple facts about life in the repressive regime.

Speaking with the hosts of Fox & Friends on Friday morning, Trump expressed his admiration for Kim, stating, “He’s the head of the country — and he’s the strong head, don’t let anyone think anything different. He speaks and his people sit up in attention. I want my people to do the same.”

As part of a fact-checking segment on the President's rambling and falsehood-filled interview, CNN host Baldwin looked directly into the camera and dropped a truth-bomb on Trump.

"Kim's people sit up at attention because they fear imprisonment and murder," she bluntly stated. "Kim ordered 340 people to be executed in his first five years, about 140 were government officials, according to this 2016 report from the Institute for National Security Strategy."

"And the whole 'my people' bit as the president said, we are Americans who have the right to freedom and liberty and the pursuit of happiness," she lectured.

"When challenged on those comments," she dryly added, "the president said he was joking."
