According to the Sun-Sentinel, Florida GOP gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis' choice to run as his lieutenant governor called out President Donald Trump as a crook in a now-deleted tweet.

On Thursday, the Trump-backed DeSantis chose State. Rep. Jeanette Nuñez (R) -- a Cuban-American -- as his running mate against Democratic nominee Andrew Gillum, the current mayor of Tallahassee.

A quick review of Nuñez's Twitter account showed the GOP politician was not a fan of Trump during the GOP presidential primary in 2016.

According to the woman who currently represents the Kendall West community in Miami-Dade County, "Wake up Florida voters, Trump is the biggest con-man there is.”

She then added the hashtags: “#supportsKKK” and “#nevertrump,” before endorsing Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL.)

According to the report, the 2016 tweet was deleted within hours after the announcement that she was chosen to be on the ballot with DeSantis -- who has his own baggage after he told voters that his black opponent would “monkey up” the state.
