Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) said that she doesn't know enough about the accusations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to make a decision.
"Well, I obviously was very surprised, and it's an issue that I brought up with him last Friday, and he denied as he did in his written statement. That's I really all I to say at this point," she said as a CNN reporter tailed her in Washington National Airport.
"I'm going to be talking to my colleagues, but I really don't have anything to add at this point, as I said," Collins said. "I did ask -- I did read the letter last week and -- and asked the judge in a telephone conversation on Friday about it, and he was very emphatic in his denial."
She went on to say she didn't know if she could make a judgment at this point.
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) has already said that until he's able to hear what she has to say, he cannot support Kavanaugh. If Collins follows suit, Kavanaugh will fail to secure enough votes.
