CNN intelligence and security analyst Robert Baer chastised President Donald Trump for his "strange" calls to military leaders on Thanksgiving.
Baer, a former CIA case officer, was portrayed by actor George Cooney in the 2005 Academy Award-winning movie Syriana.
"Putting yourself in the shoes and boots of these commanders, how awkward of a situation were they put in?" CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin asked.
"In a way it's sort of like coming back and talking to your uncle at Thanksgiving who is a little bit -- well, not with it -- and asking weird questions," Baer explained.
"Asking about the catapults on the carriers, that's very strange," he noted.
"I think he's trying to talk to the troops, have a conversation with them, but none of this is scripted and it comes off very awkward," he concluded.
