Panelists on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" expressed concern about President Donald Trump's physical health, noting his appearance seems to have deteriorated in recent weeks.
Analyst Chris Matthews said the president appears to have gained weight, and he said Trump's use of spray tan seems even more glaringly apparent as he travels the country for campaign rallies.
"Look at the guy, the raccoon eyes thing he does with the sun thing he does," Matthews said. "He doesn't look too healthy. He's gaining weight. Barney Frank used to say you eat a lot of hamburgers when you're campaigning, it's not the healthiest thing to do with your life."
Host Joe Scarborough, a former GOP congressman, agreed that candidates often have unhealthy habits on the campaign trail, and Matthews said the president should take better care of himself.
" Trump has got to get in shape again," Matthews said. "It's hurting him."
Co-host Mika Brzezinski said Scarborough had noticed a change in the president's appearance lately.
"It's a side issue, but Joe noticed he's very orange," she said.
