Sending 'TV clown' Rudy Giuliani out to Hannity to say stupid things won’t save Trump: WaPo conservative columnist

Conservative Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin tore into President Donald Trump's "irrelevant" lawyer Rudy Giuliani on MSNBC Thursday, calling him a "clown" and more.

Asked by a laughing, eye-rolling Chris Jansing "what value to the president's defense team is Rudy Giuliani", Rubin responded with one word: "zero."

"He is speaking a mishmash of untruths, legal distortions," Rubin continued. "He is presumably out there to reassure the base and to say helpful things that make Trump feel better."

"I think Americans should feel comfortable knowing that he is essentially a TV clown and what matters now are the facts and the law," she added. "What matters is what evidence Mueller and the Southern District of New York have."

"As we saw in the Flynn case, we saw in Michael Cohen case, we're talking about serious crimes that involve jail time," Rubin went on, saying that Trump was in deep trouble. "He's not going to get out of this by sending Rudy Giuliani out to talk to Sean Hannity and say stupid things."
