Trump has 'a special loathing' for Christmas parties and tries to flee them as soon as possible: report

Even though President Donald Trump has regularly boasted about supposedly "saving" Christmas during his tenure in the White House, a new report claims that the president secretly hates attending Christmas parties.

White House staffers tell New York Magazine's Olivia Nuzzi that Trump has "a special loathing" for Christmas parties and tries to flee them as quickly as he can.

One person described as "close" to the White House surmises that the president despises Christmas parties because the holiday they celebrate is about the birth of Jesus, rather than Trump himself.

"If it were about him, he’d love it," the source tells Nuzzi. "Christmas is not about him."

Another White House official was more sympathetic to the president and simply said that the Christmas parties were "a lot" for him to take in.

"He just gets impatient," the official tells Nuzzi. "He likes to go go go. Sitting through things, he gets restless."

Trump has been particularly annoyed by the yearly ritual that involves people lining up to snap photos with him at the parties -- and he's even recruited Vice President Mike Pence to stand in for him so he can flee.
