Russian officials and media outlets are gloating over Mueller’s report

Russian officials and state media gloated over news that special counsel Robert Mueller did not establish that the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government during the 2016 election.

Sen. Alexei Pushkov, a senior deputy in Russia’s Federation Council, described the Mueller report as “a mountain that birthed a dead mouse,” and Russian state news agency TASS cited Fox News to claim the findings represent a complete victory for President Donald Trump, reported Russian media watchdog Julia Davis for The Daily Beast.

“It’s not every day you get to see [Rachel Maddow] nearly cry live on-air,” said Russian state media outlet RIA Novosti.

Evgeny Popov, host of the popular 60 Minutes program, reported Mueller had confirmed that “Russia didn’t elect Trump,” but “will most definitely elect him in 2020.”

Russia’s Federal News Agency, an offshoot of the notorious Russian troll factory known as the Internet Research Agency, described Mueller’s probe as an investigation “against Russia and Trump,” and insisted the special counsel never found any evidence of their involvement in the 2016 election.

“The Russians are coming — or the Russians were never there?” said the agency’s surrogate, falsely claiming Mueller was unable to find either the troll factory or evidence against Russian hackers.

Russian state news outlet RIA Novosti predicted Russian election interference will soon be replaced by “Ukrainegate,” based on a conspiracy theory that Ukraine interfered in the U.S. elections to aid Hillary Clinton, which Trump himself has promoted on Twitter and Sean Hannity has pushed on Fox News.

Donald Trump on the US-Mexico Border

Federal agents seized 15,000 kilos of cocaine Tuesday, but it wasn't found on the U.S.-Mexico border.

President Donald Trump has been saying since 2015 that Mexicans bring "drugs" and "crime" into the United States, but not even his border wall could have stopped the seven massive shipping containers that came into the Philadelphia Shipping Yard.

“We’re talking about an invasion of our country with drugs, with human traffickers, with all types of criminals and gangs,” Trump said in a speech declaring a national emergency.

According to law enforcement, the shipping container traveled from Chile, Panama and the Bahamas, NBC Philadelphia reported.

Border Patrol agent Art del Cueto attacked Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Tuesday for calling immigrant detention facilities "concentration camps."

"This administration has established concentration camps on the southern border of the United States for immigrants, where they are being brutalized with dehumanizing conditions and dying," Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a tweet on Tuesday after President Donald Trump vowed to deport "millions" of illegal immigrants.

Ocasio-Cortez later noted that concentration camps are "not the same as death camps" used in the Holocaust.
