Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez mocked members of the House GOP Caucus on Thursday night, as Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy spoke at great length on the floor to delay passage of President Joe Biden's Build Back Better Act.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) appeared in a video with Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) outside the House chamber during McCarthy's speech.

At the start of the video, Raskin noted that McCarthy seemed "more upset about climate action and universal pre-K and Medicare covering hearing than he is about his own guy, (Rep. Paul) Gosar, creating a violent homicidal cartoon that he put up on the Internet and refused to take down. And they're really upset that we censured him for it."

Raskin then quipped that McCarthy's rambling speech — which Speaker Nancy Pelosi earlier called a "temper tantrum" — was "one of the greatest speeches in American history."

"Not since the Gettysburg Address has America witnessed a speech like this," Raskin said sarcastically of McCarthy's remarks, which were being widely panned on Twitter.

"I mean, the Gettysburg address was elegant and brief, unlike (this)," Ocasio-Cortez responded.

At that point the New York congresswoman decided to "examine this peanut gallery" behind McCarthy, pointing at GOP House members on a TV screen.

"This right here (is) Mike Pence's brother, also a member of Congress — I mean, you know, whatever," she said, pointing at Rep. Greg Pence (R-IN).

"Here, we have Rep. (Andrew) Clyde, who said Jan. 6 was a collection of tourists," she added. "Meanwhile I heard that he was crying like a little baby on the day that it was happening."

"Again, stunning diversity in the House Republican Caucus," she added of the all-white-male group of lawmakers sitting behind McCarthy.

Raskin asked Ocasio-Cortez if she was struck by the fact that Pence's brother was sitting with a group of people who defend the insurrectionists who chanted "hang Mike Pence" on Jan. 6.

Ocasio-Cortez responded: "I mean you have (Texas GOP Sen.) Ted Cruz — the president humiliated his family, and he goes to bat for him. And then you have this man sitting next to people who were encouraging folks who literally wanted to harm his own family. I don't understand it."

"This man clearly will not stop talking," Ocasio-Cortez added of McCarthy, "but has nothing to say."
