Alina Habba repeatedly drew the ire of judge Lewis Kaplan during her closing argument in Donald Trump's defamation case.
The former president's attorney accused author E. Jean Carroll of enjoying the attention she received after accusing Trump of rape, saying that she had also seen a dramatic improvement in her personal financial situation, but the judge admonished her for suggesting it was untrue that Carroll had been sexually abused — despite Trump being found liable of it in an earlier trial, reported ABC News.
"She made an allegation in the most public form by design," Habba said, adding that Trump had continued to deny the claim.
Carroll's attorney objected and the judge sustained, because Trump is not allowed to cause the jury to doubt the earlier verdict that found him liable for sexually abusing and defaming the author.
