Alina Habba, an attorney for Donald Trump, asked a witness to define "narcissism" as the former president looked on.
After attorneys for E. Jean Carroll rested their defamation case Thursday, Habba called Carol Martin, a longtime friend of Carroll, to the stand.
Habba quizzed Martin, a former CBS anchor, about social media posts she made after Trump was accused of raping Carroll.
"Did you think Ms. Carroll was enjoying the attention?" Habba asked, according to Inner City Press.
"At points," Martin said.
"Ms. Martin, what does narcissism mean to you?" Habba pressed.
"Seeing things through yourself," Martin replied.

"You know you're under oath? You said Ms. Carroll's narcissism has run amuck?" Habba said.
"I texted that to a friend," Martin explained.
"I understand it's hard to see this about a friend," Habba opined.
At that point, U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan cut Habba off.
"No speeches, Ms. Habba," Kaplan remarked.
Trump has long been accused of exhibiting narcissistic traits.
