In a series of tweets on Sunday morning, Allen West -- the one-time U.S. House member representing Florida and current GOP candidate to become governor of Texas-- told supporters that he is still in the hospital and doing well after coming down with Covid-19-like symptoms.
On Saturday he had tweeted that he was taking hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin to deal with illness, only to later reveal he was headed to the hospital.
During his Sunday morning tweetstorm he attributed his recovery to having undergone the expensive "monoclonal antibody infusion therapy at Advance ER in Dallas" before attacking readily available and free Covid-19 vaccines which he said only enrich "the pockets of Big Pharma and corrupt bureaucrats and politicians."
As West wrote, "Yesterday my wife, Angela, and I underwent monoclonal antibody infusion therapy at Advance ER in Dallas -- special hat tip to the staff there for their care and professionalism. The results were immediate," before later adding, "I can attest that, after this experience, I am even more dedicated to fighting against vaccine mandates. Instead of enriching the pockets of Big Pharma and corrupt bureaucrats and politicians, we should be advocating the monoclonal antibody infusion therapy."
He continued, "Instead of jabbing Americans, and not illegal immigrants, with a dangerous shot which injects them with these spike proteins . . . guess what? I now have natural immunity and double the antibodies, and that's science," before adding that, as governor of Texas he would, "... vehemently crush anyone forcing vaccine mandates in the Lone Star State. There are far better protocols that individual citizens can utilize and decide for themselves."
As several critics of the Republican noted, monoclonal antibody infusion therapy can cost in the area of $2,000 to $3,000 -- which would likely to contribute to the bottom line of the big pharma manufacturer.
