Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) received a standing ovation Wednesday when she taunted Mike Johnson, who would soon after be elected speaker of the House and who is the man behind a federal "Don't Say Gay" bill, by sending a shout-out to her wife.

"Happy wedding anniversary to my wife," Craig cried out. Then she cast her vote: "Hakeem Jeffries."

Craig's Johnson-directed jibe spurred House members to rise to their feet and applaud for a good ten seconds. The Minnesota representative also shared photos of her wife Cheryl on X.

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

"Happy Anniversary to my amazing wife Cheryl," Craig wrote. "I'm so lucky to be sharing this adventure called life with you!"

Craig's shoutout arrived as the House faced its own adventure Wednesday afternoon with yet another attempt to elect a Republican to lead the house.

Johnson is the Donald Trump backed insurrectionist chosen after the former president decided to torpedo the chances of Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN), whom he dubbed a "globalist RINO."

The support Craig received from her fellow Democrats contrasts intensely with the scorn heaped on Emmer, who one GOP pundit called a eunuch.
