The mother of the late Capitol rioter Ashli Babbitt had some choice words for convicted Capitol rioter Alan Hostetter as he was sentenced to more than a decade in jail on Thursday.
As reported by NBC News' Ryan Reilly, Hostetter spouted many wild conspiracy theories during his sentencing, including claims that the January 6th attack on the Capitol was a set-up by the federal government.
In fact, Hostetter even went so far as to say that Ashli Babbitt's death was faked, which aroused the anger of Babbitt's mother, Micki Witthoeft, who was in attendance.
After Hostetter was sentenced, Witthoeft confronted him for spouting falsehoods about her daughter.
"I assure you she is dead,” Witthoeft said, according to Reilly. “What... is it you're trying to say?”

“Was she cremated?” Hostetter shot back in reply.
“You need help,” she retorted.
Ashli Babbitt was trying to break into the House chamber on January 6th when lawmakers were still being evacuated. As she was crawling through a shattered window adjacent to a door that police had barricaded to prevent rioters from reaching members of Congress, Lt. Michael Byrd shot her after warning her and other rioters to get back.
A Capitol Police investigation of the incident cleared Byrd of any wrongdoing.
