Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) found herself in a shouting match with Rep. James Comer (R-KY) after the powerful House Oversight Committee chairman refused to let her enter documents into the official record.
During a House Oversight Committee hearing on Wednesday, Pressley asked for "unanimous consent" to enter a document about sexual violence into the record.
"I would like to seek unanimous consent to enter into the record this article, and I will do this as a survivor of sexual violence myself," she said. "This is from Courts, March 2018..."
"Without objection, so ordered," Comer said, cutting Pressley off before she could finish her request.
"I haven't entered it," the Democrat noted. "I have several articles. I need to enter them. Let me just go ahead with the — what the articles are."
"Data from Texas shows that U.S.-born Americans..." she said before Comer stopped her again.
"No, no!" he bellowed. "This trend of you all trying to get thrown out of committees so you can get on MSNBC is going to end! We're not going to put up with it!"
"This is my procedural right as a member of this committee to enter documents into the record!" Pressley pointed out. "You do not get to dictate how I recite the articles for the record!"

"Ms. Pressley, I have been very accommodating to you," Comer insisted.
"And I take particular umbrage as a survivor of sexual violence," she replied. "I will enter into the record! This is my right! Thank you."
"No, no!" Comer exclaimed, shutting her down. "You know the process of unanimous consent. You are not recognized."
