President Donald Trump's controversial pick for commissioner of the IRS is now the subject of an investigation after a report exposed his social media account followed providers of mature and sexually explicit content.
Trump nominated Billy Long for the IRS role, sparking debate over Long's past endorsement of tax-avoidance schemes, his ties to firms involved in tax credit controversies, and concerns about his qualifications to lead the agency. His nomination is pending Senate confirmation, and he is expected to appear before the Senate Finance Committee on Tuesday.
But a new Rolling Stone report about his X account could complicate things for Long. The report uncovered that his publicly visible list of accounts he follows includes names such as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, EPA head Lee Zeldin, Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency.

But that's not all.
His account "has also recently followed many purveyors of adult-themed content," the report said. "Some post content that is mildly sexually provocative. Other accounts post porn."
The report noted the former congressman's recent account activity "points to broader interest in pregnant women."
"One eye-catching account recently followed by Long’s account goes by the handle 'Pregnant Redhead.' This is not a porn account; quite the opposite. The creator produces content in the genre known as 'trad wife,' which celebrates pastoral stereotypes of strong men and passive women, and posts images with SFW allure," the report said.
Other accounts, however, post explicitly sexual content — including of pregnant women — but do so with account handles that disguise their true purpose. One such account followed by Long has two posts, one of which is a repost of a provocative image from the account “SpicyMoms2.”
A senior Trump senior official told Rolling Stone Long’s account was hacked.
“This is absolute bulls--- and not something the congressman would ever do,” the official said. “Clearly there has been unauthorized access to the account in the 11th hour before his hearing, and we are currently investigating the matter, including reporting it to X.”
