The brother of Brian Sicknick, the late United States Capitol Police officer who suffered from a fatal stroke the day after battling Trump-supporting rioters, had some choice words for the former president this week.
In an interview with CBS Mornings, Craig Sicknick expressed disgust after being played a clip of former President Donald Trump musing about pardoning the people who violently stormed the Capitol on his behalf, even going so far as to call them "hostages" instead of prisoners.
"Excuse my language, but I think it's a bunch of bulls--t," Sicknick stated bluntly. "They broke the law. They broke several laws and they're on camera doing it. They were convicted in a court and are sitting in jail because of it."

While families of Jan. 6th victims may not be keen on Trump's pledge to pardon the criminals who hurt their relatives, the rioters themselves have been much more enthusiastic.
In an interview with NPR earlier this week, Jan. 6 convict Jacob Lang encouraged Trump to deliver a blanket pardon to all people convicted for taking part in the riots, including people like himself who assaulted police.
"It's a beautiful pledge," Lang said of Trump's pardon promise. "No Jan. 6-er left behind. Bring us all home, 47, Donald Trump. Bring us all home."
