Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins ripped off a signature move from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem by posing for photos from a python hunt.
The Trump appointee shared a series of photos Monday on X showing her with a python draped across her shoulders and then a closeup shot of inside the snake's mouth, saying she'd gone to the Florida Everglades to hunt the invasive species.
“Last night I joined a python hunt in the Florida Everglades!” Rollins posted.
“Got hands-on with Florida’s invasive species problem,” she added. “Learned how to wrangle those slithery giants like a pro, joined a heart-pounding hunt under the swamp’s moonlight, & saw up close how these pythons disrupt the Ecosystem. Who’s ready to join the hunt?”
The agriculture secretary also quoted the title of Taylor Swift's song, "Look What You Made Me Do," which uses snake symbolism in the video, along with a snake emoji.
Rollins' fellow cabinet secretary Noem has engaged in similar publicity stunts by sharing photos of herself posing with animals like a bear and moose that she had killed while hunting, and she became infamous before Trump nominated her to lead DHS by writing in her 2204 book about killing her family's 14-month-old dog Cricket.
Invasive species of snake from around the world have thrived in the Everglades over the past decade, but the Burmese python has been the most damaging to the local ecosystem.
Python hunting is allowed in Florida on both public and private lands to help thin the population of invasive snakes.
