The MAGA rioter who brought his 10-year-old son to the January 6th "Stop the Steal" rally and then left him outside with a friend as he illegally entered the Capitol building has been sentenced to two months in prison.
As NBC 4 Washington's Scott MacFarlane reports, Capitol rioter Boyd Camper's two-month prison sentence was exactly what federal prosecutors asked for in their sentencing guidelines.
According to MacFarlane, the judge overseeing the case scolded Camper for not only participating in the riots but also bringing his young son to what turned out to be a violent demonstration.
"Clearly your intent and mindset... was to participate in this self-described Insurrection," the judge told Camper. ""Violence is an unacceptable way to resolve political differences."
The judge then told Camper that he should teach his son about the value of democracy.
During an interview with the FBI earlier this year, Camper initially claimed that he wasn't in the Capitol, but said that Antifa had bussed several outsiders in to storm the building to make Trump supporters look bad.
However, Camper admitted that he had stormed the Capitol after federal officials revealed they'd obtained a video interview in which he said, "We're going to take this damn place. If you haven't heard it's called the insurrection act and we the people are ready."
