An official from the Turning Point organization confirmed that its founder, Charlie Kirk, was shot in the neck.
"He was shot in the neck. He’s at the hospital. It doesn’t look good," chief marketing officer Marina Minas told CBS News.
Law enforcement sources confirmed to The Associated Press that Kirk, 31, was taken to the hospital and was in critical condition.
Deseret News reporter Emma Pitts told CNN that she witnessed the shooting in Utah.
"It felt like so much blood came out of his neck immediately," she recalled. "And then we all took to the ground."
